What is an image to PDF converter?
An image to PDF converter takes one or more pictures — photos, scans, screenshots — and places each one onto its own page inside a single PDF file. A PDF is useful where a loose collection of image files isn't: it keeps pages in a fixed order, opens the same way in any PDF reader, and is the format most forms, email attachments and document systems expect rather than a folder of JPGs.
How to convert images to PDF
Add your images by dragging them onto the tool or choosing them from your device. Each one appears in the list on the left, numbered in the order it will appear as a page. Reorder them with the up/down arrows if needed, adjust the page size or layout if the defaults don't fit your case, then press Create PDF. The preview on the right already shows how each page will look before you create anything — pressing Create PDF produces the real, downloadable file from that same layout.
JPG vs. PNG when creating a PDF
It rarely matters which format your source image started as — this tool reads JPG, PNG and WebP the same way. What does matter is what's in the image: a photo with no transparency is re-encoded as JPEG at your chosen quality, which keeps the PDF reasonably sized. An image with transparency (typically a PNG or WebP) is kept as lossless PNG inside the PDF so nothing is flattened or discarded, at the cost of a larger file than the same image saved as JPEG would be.
How to combine multiple images into one PDF
Add every image you want included — up to 12 at once — and they're combined into a single PDF automatically, one page per image, rather than producing a separate file for each. This is the main reason to reach for a tool like this instead of printing images to PDF one at a time: a set of receipts, scanned pages or screenshots becomes one file in the order you choose, ready to attach or file away as a single document.
How page size and margins affect your PDF
A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) are the two page sizes most documents and printers expect — pick whichever is standard where you are. Original image size instead sizes each page to match that image's own pixel dimensions, which avoids any scaling at all but means pages in a multi-image PDF can end up different sizes if the source images aren't uniform. Margins control how much blank space surrounds the image inside the page: None lets the image reach the edges, Small and Medium leave a consistent border, which matters most when "Fit to page" is selected since the image is scaled to stay inside that margin.
How to make an image PDF smaller
The output format under Image quality has the biggest effect: Smaller file uses more aggressive JPEG compression than Balanced or High, trading some visual quality for a lighter PDF. Reducing the number or resolution of source images also reduces the final size directly. If an individual image is still large going in, compressing it first with the Smart Image Compressor gives this tool less data to work with, which carries through to a smaller PDF — there's no setting here that makes a PDF small regardless of what's actually inside it.
Common image-to-PDF problems
- Rotated photos. A phone photo's EXIF orientation tag is read and applied automatically, so a photo that displays upright on your phone is placed upright in the PDF rather than sideways.
- Large file sizes. Covered above — lower the Image quality setting, or compress source images first.
- Blurry images. If the source image is already low-resolution or compressed, converting it to PDF cannot add back detail that isn't there; the PDF can only be as sharp as the image you start with.
- Wrong page orientation. Auto orientation matches each page to that image's own aspect ratio; choose Portrait or Landscape explicitly if you want every page to share one orientation regardless of the source images.
- Unexpected cropping. This only happens with Fill page, which deliberately scales the image to cover the entire page and crops any excess — choose Fit to page instead to always show the whole image, uncropped.
- Transparent backgrounds. A PDF page has no fill color of its own, so transparent areas in a PNG or WebP appear on the page's plain white background rather than disappearing or turning black.
Does SkyyCast upload my images?
No. Every image is read and drawn by your own browser using the File API and <canvas>, and the PDF itself is assembled locally by a client-side PDF library — the only network request this page makes is loading that library's own code, which never carries your image data. Nothing is sent to SkyyCast or any other service, no account is needed, and closing or reloading the page discards everything.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an image to PDF?
Drop one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images onto the tool (or browse to choose files), adjust the page size and layout options if you want something other than the defaults, and press Create PDF. The finished file downloads directly from your browser.
Can I combine multiple images into one PDF?
Yes. Add up to 12 images and they become one PDF with one page per image, in the order shown in the list. Use the up/down arrows next to each image to reorder pages before creating the PDF.
Can I convert JPG to PDF? Can I convert PNG to PDF?
Yes to both, along with WebP. A PNG or WebP with transparency keeps its transparency in the PDF; since a PDF page has no fill color of its own, transparent areas appear on the page's white background.
Can I arrange images before creating the PDF?
Yes. Each image in the list has up and down arrows to change its position, and the page order in the generated PDF always matches the order shown in the list.
Can I choose A4 or other page sizes?
Yes. Choose A4, US Letter, or Original image size from the page size control, with Portrait, Landscape or Auto orientation.
Will my image quality be reduced?
Images without transparency are re-encoded as JPEG at the quality level you choose (High, Balanced, or Smaller file); images with transparency are kept as lossless PNG. Balanced is a reasonable default for most photos.
Are my images uploaded to SkyyCast?
No. Every image is read and drawn entirely in your browser, and the PDF is assembled locally. Nothing is uploaded to SkyyCast, no account is needed, and closing or reloading the page discards everything.
